CANCELED

America's Wilderness Legacy will be led by a Yampatika naturalist who worked as a Wilderness Ranger in Northern Arizona, Minnesota and California for the US Forest Service. Learn about the uniquely American idea to capture a place and time when we didn't have motors, wheels, or buildings. This history will dive into the creation stories of local Wilderness areas, the Zirkel’s and Flat Tops, such as Theodore Roosevelt's hunting visits, how a German geologist became a namesake, how a simple comment from locals changed our area forever and other fascinating facts.

What to bring in your day pack: 2 Water bottles, snacks, sunscreen, extra layers (long sleeve shirt, fleece) and also bring your waterproof jacket- weather changes quickly, make sure to come for cooler/wet weather
