Sarvis Creek Wilderness is an overlooked area with nice shady stands of evergreens tucked along the creek. This hike will cover the unique history of this area including visiting a historic cabin. In partnership with Historic Routt County.

Description

One time only this summer!

Before we begin the hike, our historical expert from Historic Routt County will take us to a historic cabin located on the Hubbard Summer Camp near the confluence of Sarvis Creek and the Yampa River.

Then Yampatika's Wilderness expert and former US Forest Service Wilderness Ranger will lead the group up the trail, stopping along the way to discuss the unique history and management of Wilderness areas. Historic Routt County will also shed light on the namesake logging company and homestead lifestyle of the area while we take a break creekside!

Thank you our partner Historic Routt County
